QI audience pleasures

QI (Quite Interesting)  is a british comedy game/panel show that is produced by the BBC and hosted by Stephen Fry. It is a clever game show which prompts the panelists (several of whom are comedians, actors and celebrities) to try and answer questions that are seemingly obvious, but they will never get it right because t he answers are extremely obscure and take the audience by surprise (even though after 1 season the panelists should be able to figure that out by now, but hey i guess they have to get it wrong)
The television show is effective because it captures all three parts of the original BBC code, to inform, educate and entertain. The fact that it mixes in elements of humour with lots of very interesting facts you likely would have known, creates an effect that grips the audience and often relieves them from the stress of everyday life as they can get lost in laughing too much at Alan Davies at being too oblivious to any kind of common sense that the questions pose.

There is an extract i watched called 'Exploding Custard', in which meniacal mastermind Stephen Fry sets fire to custard powder. (because he has a degree from Cambridge, i'm pretty sure those people could do anything anyway) This educates and informs the audience by revealing the physics behind the explosion and entertains due to Alan Davies' amusing interupting remarks and the witty conversations between him and Stephen Fry. Another of the audience pleasures is that it is extremely British humour, everybody can connect with it because us Brits understand other Brits. There is always something happenning on QI and there is always something that you can either learn from casual viewing or laugh to with the audience of the set as Stephen and the panelists always have something intriguing and witty to say, which quickly captivates the audience and creates a lasting atmosphere of fun and friendliness between the panelists which always leaves you keen to see another episode, which in my opinion is a very good value for a television show to have.
